Flare Monitor / Pilot Monitor (WILLIAMSON Corporation)
Prevent the generation of black smoke at the flare stack and reduce the steam sent to the flue (Flare Monitor) / Remote monitoring of pilot flames (Pilot Monitor)
The flare monitor is a two-wavelength infrared optical sensor that can quantify the state of the flame, such as whether "excess steam is being supplied" or "there is insufficient steam leading to black smoke." By linking it with control systems like DCS, effective control can be automatically performed to supply the appropriate amount of steam. The pilot monitor is a two-wavelength infrared optical sensor that can remotely monitor the "ignition" and "extinguishing" of a pilot flame from a distance. While monitoring the pilot flame with thermocouples is common, they are installed at the end of the chimney, which requires scaffolding for replacement in case of failure. This incurs significant construction costs, and replacement cannot be done during operation. Additionally, it involves working at heights, which poses safety risks.
